Nicholas Hoffman (born in Canton, Ohio) works in the fields of visual arts, music and performance. His practices enable and inform each other jointly, and the artifacts of his production relate to one another on material, musical and textual levels. Recognized through diverse media, his works playfully examine the causality between the built environment and subjectivity; exploring the poetics, violence, stupidity and humor of the quotidian in relation to composition, rhythm and time. He studied sculpture at the Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien and Städelschule Frankfurt.
